COOL HAND FRANK spotlights purpose-driven organizations working to make this world healthier, happier, and better.
Music is a favorite subject in the COOL HAND FRANK world. It’s poetry sung and unsung, viral emotion that grows minds and hearts and enhances life.
But for the overwhelming majority of musicians, it’s a difficult road toward and through the act of creation, and just as difficult to sustain afterward.
Denver, Colorado-based Backline has been operating since August 2019, specializing in mental health care for musicians and their families. This nonprofit organization provides the resources and financial support artists need to keep going when personal and professional challenges become too difficult to tackle alone. And for far too many musicians, those challenges are.
There are several ways to play your part, even if you, like many of us, are not part of the music industry. Backline has a robust professional referral program, including contacts not only for mental health but also for wellness experts in yoga, fitness and nutrition. Fundraisers and partnerships, too. And, of course, donations.
