The journey as an artist and illustrator began in Canton, China, where my six siblings and I first started drawing and painting. Our family emigrated from Hong Kong to the United States when I was seven years old, eventually settling in Chicago’s vibrant Chinatown.

My illustration work has appeared in packaging and advertisements for national brands and television commercials. As a fine artist, I have created a diverse collection of paintings and drawings, including large installations in downtown Chicago.

My commitment to promoting Chinese culture and traditions extends beyond my artwork—my books celebrate the beauty and richness of Chinese heritage. Father’s Chinese Opera, my first book, published in 2014, was chosen as an Honor Title for the 2014–2015 Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature in the Picture Book category.
